Sarasota County is only at 27,000 plus for first dose Covid vacs - most of east coast Florida have had both their shots for weeks! Also Orlando and Ocala area. It is the end of February, my elderly friends are numbers 101,000 plus and 124,000 plus as well as my husband 78,339 - at this rate it seems we are looking at June or July? Why the disparity between east coast and the Gulf counties? I have called and emailed the governor’s office and urge you to do the same! This is wrong! Additionally, the pop up clinic in Venice didn’t benefit Venice people but the PR with DeSantis and other GOP people hyped it as such. The clinics follow the queue! So north Sarasota county drive to Venice and we in Venice drive up to Sarasota. East coast had clinics close to people’s homes! Elderly folks can’t drive over hell’s creation to get these shots! Sarasota County is being left in the dust.

Here it goes lets start picking on the Florida Governor that has done the best job in the country protecting the Florida citizens and the backbone of Florida, our service industry!!! So now no more President Trump to pick on so they attack our great governor.
Just more HATE from the left

How do I sign up for covid vaccine In Sarasota county

Revoking the Sarasota mask mandate is ill-advised in my opinion. It's ironic that we seniors many of whom have been vaccinated basically totally support the mandate despite our reduced risk of infection, while the 20-45 year old crowd often make up the bulk of the mask free crowd at bars and clubs. Particularly ironic now that they make up the bulk of current COVID Hospitalizations and ICU beds. Oh well!!!

Yes, we need to wear masks. Florida population 21.8 million; DEATHS as of February 19: 30,000. That's 30K. Taiwan population 23 Million. Deaths as of February 19: 10. That's 10. Ten! Everyone in Taiwan wears a mask when outside of their home. It's a matter of culture, consideration, and good sense.

I work downtown and we get a lot of people come in our office. It has been nice that probably 90% of our office visitors have masks on. Now, it will make our jobs more uncomfortable and dangerous. Doesn’t these commissioners care about the people who work and live downtown? Why do you think the cases have been dropping consistently? Don’t be stupid. Read the facts.

I think that masks are a small price - to accelerate the dramatic reduction of the coronavirus on our economy and our loved ones.
No one in my family will patronize any business that does not require masks and enforce that requirement.

The Sarasota City Commission recently voted against extending the citywide mask mandate, which expires Feb. 25.

Do you think commissioners should have extended the ordinance? Or are you happy to see the mask requirement go away?

And do you still plan on wearing masks in public?
